For the diversity of industrial flow measuring instruments and equipment, when using industrial
instruments, choosing to use different instrumentation equipment due to different
application environments can also be said to be a form of choosing instruments now.
With a variety of similar but different meters, the user is bound to utilize the wrong
choice. For example, turbine and vortex flow meter, which are often mistaken by
enterprises, what is the difference between them before?
1. Differences in application areas
Vortex flowmeter: It is mainly used for flow measurement of medium and fluid in
industrial pipelines, such as gas, liquid, steam and other media. It is characterized by
small pressure loss, large measuring range, high precision, and is almost not affected
by parameters such as fluid density, pressure, temperature, viscosity, etc. when
measuring the volume flow of the working condition. No moving mechanical parts,
so high reliability and low maintenance. Instrument parameters can be stable for a
long time.
Turbine flowmeter: widely used in the following measurement objects: petroleum,
organic liquids, inorganic liquids, liquefied gas, natural gas, coal gas and cryogenic
fluids and other aspects. It has the advantages of simple structure, few processing
parts, light weight, convenient maintenance, large flow capacity (large flow through
the same caliber) and adaptable to high parameters (high temperature, high pressure
and low temperature).
Second, the difference between production and manufacturing
A turbine flowmeter is an instrument that uses a multi-blade rotor (turbine) to
measure the average flow of a fluid and calculate flow or total flow from it.
The vortex flowmeter is designed and manufactured according to the principle of
Karman vortex. The flow rate is measured using the principle of fluid oscillation.
When the fluid passes through the vortex transmitter in the pipe, the triangular
column vortex generator alternately generates two rows of vortices in proportion to
the flow. The release frequency of the vortex generator is related to the average
velocity of the fluid flowing through the vortex generator and the characteristics of
the vortex generator
3. Differences in data transmission
The turbine flowmeter cuts off the magnetic induction line through the rotation of
the impeller, and then measures the output flow through signal processing.
Vortex flowmeter is a flow measurement method that processes the output signal by
detecting the Karman vortex.
