How to choose a vortex flowmeter

1. Determine the measurement requirements

Media type: First determine whether the medium to be measured is gas, steam or liquid.

Flow range: Clarify the flow range to be measured in order to select the appropriate vortex flowmeter model and specifications.

Temperature range: Understand the temperature range of the measured medium to ensure that the selected vortex flowmeter

 can work normally within this temperature range.

Pressure range: Understand the pressure conditions in the pipeline to ensure that the selected vortex flowmeter can withstand 

the pressure.

2. Vortex flowmeter type selection

Threaded vortex flowmeter: simple structure, reliable connection, easy installation and disassembly.

Saturated steam vortex flowmeter: Suitable for flow measurement of steam medium fluid in industrial pipelines, with small pressure 

loss, large range, high accuracy and other characteristics.

Inserted vortex flow meter: good vibration resistance, no zero drift, high reliability.

High-temperature steam vortex flowmeter: Suitable for occasions where high-temperature fluid medium and normal temperature

 fluid working conditions cannot be stopped for maintenance.

High-pressure vortex flowmeter: It uses a piezoelectric stress sensor and can work in the operating temperature range of -20℃~+250℃.

Other types: such as natural gas vortex flowmeter, sanitary vortex flowmeter, temperature and pressure compensation vortex 

flowmeter, etc., select according to specific needs.

3. Accuracy and functional requirements

Accuracy level: Select the instrument accuracy level according to the measurement requirements and usage occasions, such as 

1.0 level, 0.5 level, etc.

Functional requirements: Consider whether remote monitoring, data transmission and other functions are required, and select 

a vortex flowmeter with corresponding functions.

4. Cost and maintenance

Cost: Consider the purchase cost of the vortex flowmeter, as well as the cost of subsequent installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Maintenance: Choose a vortex flowmeter with simple structure, high reliability and low maintenance to reduce maintenance costs.
