At the cathode: CLO- + 2H+ +2e = CL + H2O
At the anode: CL- + Ag = AgCl + e-
Since in a certain temperature conditions, and pH condition, There exists fixed conversion relationship among HOCL,CLO and residual chlorine. It is use this way to measure the residual chlorine.
