Electrical Contacts Pressure Gauge Selection
I. Core Parameter Compatibility Analysis
Range and Accuracy:
The 0-2.5 bar range you requested meets low-pressure measurement needs, but we recommend considering an increased range of 0-4 bar
when selecting a gauge. This is because pressure fluctuations in industrial applications can exceed expectations. A safety margin (e.g., no more
than 2/3 of the full-scale range, or 1.67 bar) prevents the spring tube from being subjected to prolonged high stress, extending its service life.
Class 1 accuracy (±1% full-scale deviation) is suitable for general industrial control. For higher accuracy requirements (such as in laboratories or
precision manufacturing), consider Class 0.5 accuracy models.
Dial Size and Window Material:
The 150 mm dial diameter provides a clear reading field of view, suitable for long-distance readings or low-light environments.
The methacrylate window is impact-resistant and UV-resistant, with a light transmittance of ≥90%, superior to ordinary glass, making it suitable
for outdoor use or harsh environments.
II. Material Alternative Evaluation
Pressure Element Material:
Monel 400, as specified in the original requirement, is unavailable due to cost or supply issues. 316 stainless steel is a reasonable alternative.
316 stainless steel has better corrosion resistance in chloride environments than 304, but less than Monel 400. If the medium contains high
concentrations of chloride ions (such as seawater), the calibration interval should be shortened to three months, and the gauge body should
be inspected regularly for corrosion.
Casing Material:
SS304 (304 stainless steel) casings offer moderate corrosion resistance and are less expensive than 316, making them suitable for use with
less corrosive media. If the medium is more corrosive, upgrading to a 316 stainless steel casing may be considered.
III. Protection and Sealing Performance Analysis
Protection Rating:
IP67 ensures the pressure gauge is dustproof and waterproof, and can withstand temporary immersion in water (1 meter for 30 minutes),
making it suitable for outdoor or humid environments. For particularly harsh environments, a rain cover can be added to extend its life.
Fluid Filling:
Glycerol or silicone oil can be added to reduce vibration and noise, preventing excessive pointer fluctuation. Glycerin is suitable for
temperatures between -20°C and 60°C, while silicone oil is suitable for temperatures between -40°C and 150°C. The selection should be
based on the media temperature.
Seal Material:
FPM (fluororubber) is high-temperature resistant (200°C) and suitable for high-temperature media such as steam.
FKM (fluorocarbon rubber) is chemically resistant and suitable for environments with strong acids and organic solvents.
PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is acid- and alkali-resistant and suitable for media such as concentrated sulfuric acid and sodium hydroxide.
IV. Installation and Maintenance Tips
Installation Requirements:
Vertical installation ensures that threaded connections are free of stress and the tilt angle is ≤5°. Otherwise, zero calibration is required.
The 1/2" NPT male thread connection complies with ASME B1.20.1 standards. Ensure thread accuracy to prevent leakage.
Maintenance Recommendations:
Regularly check the fill fluid for leaks and add glycerin or silicone oil if necessary.
Calibration Interval: Generally, calibration should be performed every 12 months. This may be reduced to 6 months in environments with
high vibration or high temperatures.
Troubleshooting: Pointer jitter may be due to fill fluid leakage, which should be checked and replenished. Zero drift requires calibration
after standing for 2 hours at 20°C ± 5°C.
